Tarleton's renowned rodeo program is known for having some of the toughest and most talented student competitors among National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association members. Tarleton State University's Rodeo Team has been part of a winning tradition since 1947. Tarleton teams have won numerous team national championship titles as well as many individual national championships. Today Tarleton has one of the largest teams in the nation with more than 100 card holding student members.
Gifts to the Rodeo Team are used at the discretion of the Director of Rodeo Activities and Head Coach for team travel, supplies, equipment, facility upgrades and unbudgeted opportunities.
The Rodeo Scholarship Endowment provides financial assistance to cowboys and cowgirls who have the ability to do college level education work while showing success in the arena. Scholarships vary from $500 per year to $13,000 per year. Students attending Tarleton who are not receiving scholarships or smaller scholarships are considered first for new scholarships. Community college transfers and high school graduates with outstanding records are also considered.
Donations may be made to support capital improvements and renovations to Tarleton's Rodeo Facilities which includes the arena and pens.
