Our mission is to provide students professional education and other human services with a quality education through academic, cultural, and leadership experiences, and to provide leadership through scholarship and service to the community and professions. Programs in the College of Education prepare students for challenging, gratifying, and socially significant careers. In addition to its teaching function, the college has a strong service commitment to public schools, human service agencies, and the University Interscholastic League. Each year the college plays host to a variety of professional development institutes for educators and interscholastic events for public schools. Tarleton professors actively provide consultation and technical assistance to schools and human service agencies.

Study Abroad programs equip students with international experiences, language capabilities and cross-cultural communication skills necessary to succeed in the global economy. Learning how to interact with people from other countries and cultures equips future leaders to address urgent issues shared across borders.
The College of Education created the Crystal Apple Society in 2012 to honor educators who have made a positive impact on the lives of students. Since then, the society has raised thousands of dollars in scholarships for students pursuing a degree in education.
Renaissance Scholars are academically talented students interested in teaching at the high school level. Scholars are highly prepared for success in the teaching profession, network with professional educators in public schools, attend special fellowship activities and graduate with a unique distinction.
The Center for Child Well-Being provides prevention, psychological and consultation services for children and their families at a reasonable cost by utilizing supervised trainees in service delivery. The center is a training site for graduate and undergraduate students, providing internship opportunities and a research environment for both faculty and students. The Center is a multi-disciplinary partnership of Tarleton's departments of Psychological Sciences, Social Work, Educational Diagnostics and Counseling. Services include parent support groups, psycho-educational workshops with local businesses, educators and medical providers, and group therapy, along with individualized sessions involving psychological evaluations, psychotherapy and case consultations.

Department of Curriculum & Instruction prepares individuals to become self-directed professionals who have a systemic understanding of education in America. Students are given ample opportunity to hone their leadership skills through scholarship and service to the extended community and professionals.
Department of Educational Leadership & Policy Studies is providing exciting and challenging ways to develop bright new leaders in the educational administration field. Offering master's doctoral and principal and superintendent certification programs, tailored to meet the needs of busy professionals seeking to make a difference, sets this program apart from other programs across the state.
The School of Behavioral Sciences houses the Department of Psychological Sciences and the Division of Sociology. We offer undergraduate programs in Psychology and Sociology, a minor in Neuroscience, and a graduate program in Applied Psychology.
The Department of Psychological Sciences is tailored to meet the needs of students across all campus locations with classes available in Stephenville, Fort Worth, Midlothian, Waco, and online. Undergraduate and graduate students in our programs have joined faculty at the Southwestern Psychological Association, the Society for Neuroscience, and Psychonomics to name a few. In addition, students can join a Tarleton-based Psychology Club, take part in internships, study abroad, and join a local chapter of the nationally recognized Psi Chi honors society to promote networking and provide students with additional learning experiences outside the classroom.
The Division of Sociology offers face-to-face courses in Stephenville and online courses are available to support outreach campus locations. All students participate in a 120-hour internship program where they are exposed to real-world experiences that help prepare them for graduate school or a career in the field. Students from all disciplines can join the Tarleton-based Sociology Club to participate in important discussions that impact society as a whole. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in faculty-led research and present at the Southwestern Social Science Association and join the internationally recognized Alpha Kappa Delta honors society.
