The Dick Smith Library is a portal to the world's past and current knowledge and crucial to the success of students, faculty and community members. Gifts to the Library provide support for the acquisition of library collections and equipment as well as program enhancement. As the world of information becomes more complex, the Dick Smith Library provides ongoing services and expanded resources to students, faculty, staff and community members. The recent completion of the Library Learning Commons at the Stephenville campus provides a place for collaborative study and work spaces where students can interact with cutting-edge technology, research resources, support services, good coffee, and each other. The library staff helps students and others navigate an increasingly complex and information-rich learning environment. They assist users in finding material for classroom assignments and research endeavors; show how to use both web-based and print resources; and sometimes help an individual just find a quiet place to study.
The home campus library and those at the outreach locations have benefited greatly from many generous donations which have contributed to collections. Gifts to the Dick Smith Library are essential to the continued development of research and special collections, and provide additional materials and services that might not otherwise be available to users.
You may also wish to donate to the Friends of the Dick Smith Library Endowed Scholarship which provides financial assistance to a Tarleton student who is also working at the Library.
