Student-Faculty Collaborative Research

Students who collaborate with faculty members gain more than valuable laboratory experience. In-depth faculty-mentored scholarly and creative pursuits provide substantial projects for undergraduate and graduate students. Donors' gifts will be used for student stipends, supplies, services and travel to conduct and present research.

Tarleton's Office of Research & Innovation facilitates and encourages research and scholarly engagement within any discipline and provides resources to support faculty and student research and scholarly activities. The Student Research & Creative Activities Symposium is held each October and celebrates students engaged with faculty in research and other scholarly activities in all disciplines.

Animal Science Research centers on nutrition, reproduction, breeding and genetics, meat and food science.

The Center for Environmental Studies provide a regional focus for interdisciplinary and interagency research, education, and service activities that address the environmental needs and interests of communities in North Central Texas. It also coordinates academic programs related to environmental policies, management and protection. The Center is organized to facilitate creation of partnerships for environmental research and education across colleges, department and centers.

The Dairy Systems Management Research program conducts on-farm management, dairy cattle well-being, heat-stress and precision dairy monitoring technology studies. It seeks to provide applied information for dairy farmers to make accurate on-farm decisions.

Quail Research evaluates the restoration efforts of Northern bobwhite quail in Erath County, Texas. This project is part of a larger collaborative effort to help extend quail populations further east in Texas and reverse the sudden decline of the wild quail population.

Tarleton Social Media Research Institute is a cross-collaborative initiative consisting of faculty, staff and students who conduct research and provide resources on communication technology and social media.

Timberlake Biological Field Station advances environmental research, engages students in scientific discovery, and promotes stewardship of the natural world. The vision is to be a model field station focused on education, outreach and research associated with the ecological integrity of the Colorado River and the diverse flora and fauna of the Cross Timbers and Edwards Plateau ecoregions of Texas. At Timberlake Tarleton students gain valuable field experience to support their classroom learning.
