WHAT IS GIVING WEEK 2026?

Giving Week 2026 is a five-day period from March 30- April 3, 2026 to demonstrate dedication and devotion to student-success and institutional excellence at Tarleton State through philanthropic generosity.

DO ALL GIFTS MADE DURING GIVING WEEK 2026 COUNT AS GIVING WEEK DONATIONS?

Yes – all gifts made during the five-days of Giving Week count as Giving Week contributions, regardless of the amount of the gift, the nature of the gift, or the gift’s designation.

DO ALL GIFTS MADE DURING GIVING WEEK COUNT AS TEXAN EXCELLENCE FUND (TEF) DONATIONS?

No -Only gifts that meet the Texan Excellence Fund criteria count as TEF commitments. To meet the TEF criteria, a gift must be a new cash commitment that can be instantly used / is operational or “flexible” in nature. Gifts tied to endowments, capital projects or cash payments on existing, multi-year pledges do not count as new, operational donations and therefore do not count as TEF commitments.

HOW DO I LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TEXAN EXCELLENCE FUND AND THE BENEFITS ASSOCIATED WITH MEMBERSHIP?

DO TEXAN CLUB CONTRIBUTIONS MADE DURING GIVING WEEK COUNT?

Yes – when you make a Texan Club gift during Giving Week 2026, your contribution counts as a Giving Week commitment. However, Texan Club commitments DO NOT count towards the Texan Excellence Fund.

 

Only annual, operational gifts to Tarleton State Athletics, made through the Texan Excellence Fund website / TEF giving page count towards TEF membership status.

CAN YOU GIVE TO ANY COLLEGE, DEPARTMENT OR APPROVED PROGRAM DURING GIVING WEEK 2026?

Yes – all gifts regardless of designation or nature (current use / operational, endowment, capital) count as Giving Week 2026 commitments. This means you can select your college or area of interest, including Tarleton State Athletics or the Tarleton State Alumni Association, and be counted as a Giving Week 2026 donor.

CAN YOU FUND A NEW ENDOWMENT DURING GIVING WEEK 2026?

Yes – life-changing endowed gifts made during Giving Week 2026 count as Giving Week contributions. Endowment gifts are not “annual,” operational gifts and, therefore, do not count towards the donor’s Texan Excellence Fund standing.

 

However, endowments yield transformational, life-changing impact that is lasting. As a result, donors who fund endowments (scholarships, professorships, chairs, and programs) will be stewarded in the John Tarleton Society, Tarleton State’s elite community of philanthropic stakeholders.

CAN YOU SUPPORT A CAPITAL PROJECT DURING GIVING WEEK 2026?

Yes – you can advance a capital initiative during Giving Week. Note that capital contributions do not qualify as Texan Excellence Fund donations. Nonetheless, capital gifts of $25,000 or more will be stewarded in the John Tarleton Society, Tarleton State’s elite community of philanthropic stakeholders.
